Make Penetrate and Kick Requirements: One coach, 3-9 players (mix of posts and guards), one ball. 1. Guards line up at the top of the key with a ball. Wing players line up on the wing at about the 22-foot line. Guard makes a move on the coach at the top and penetrates to the bucket. Guard simulates being picked up by a second defender and kicks the ball to the wing player who is moving down the sideline with the guard. The guard is looking for the catch-and-shoot or the shot-fake-and-one-dribble shot. If there is no wing player and only a post on the ball side, the post player will circle low out to the corner for a short corner jumper. 2.Guards line up on the wing in an area from where they can pass the ball into the post. Post player posts up ballside in the low post. Wing player lines up on the opposite side of the floor. Guard makes an entry pass to the post player. Post player makes a move to the baseline side and realizes that she is covered kicks it out to the wing player on the opposite side of the floor in the corner. Incidentally, when the guard makes a pass to the post she relocates. She should try and move opposite the way her defender turns her head to help on the post. If the guard uses dribble penetration to the middle, the post player moves to the short corner. If the guard uses dribble penetration along the baseline the post player slides up the lane. There are many other opportunities for the penetrate and kick:
